Visiting Medical Students

The UCR School of Medicine Psychiatry Residency Program invites medical students to attend the program as visiting medical students.

Potential visiting medical students must meet the following criteria to apply:

  • Must be progressing toward a doctor of medicine degree at an LCME-accredited or AOA-accredited institution
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must receive academic credit for the experience
  • Must be currently enrolled in their final year of medical school

Applying for the Visiting Medical Student Program

In addition to meeting the criteria listed above, a valid affiliation agreement between your institution and the Riverside University Health System is required for participation in the program and must be approved prior to application.

The UCR School of Medicine does not participate in the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) hosted by the AAMC. Please be aware that there is limited availability for visiting students, and current UCR School of Medicine students will have priority in obtaining electives.

For more information or to receive the visiting student application, please contact the RUHS GME office via email. You may also contact the UCR School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry via email at psychvisitingstudents@medsch.ucr.edu.
