Biography

Dr. Michele A. Nelson, M.D., is a health sciences assistant clinical professor of psychiatry for the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine and a child and adolescent psychiatrist with UCR Health.

Nelson earned her B.A. in psychology from New York University with honors, then her M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where she also served as chief fellow.

While at UC Irvine she served on the educational policy committee and was a liaison between the graduate medical education program and hospital administration. She also mentored and supervised residents and medical students.

She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.

Research Interests

Nelson's research interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, ADHD, ODD, and anxiety disorders. She has presented at multiple national conferences.
