About the Program Curriculum

The UCR School of Medicine Family Residency Program is a three-year program that provides outstanding training for family medicine residents by providing excellent patient care with compassion and leadership skills.

Listed below are the curriculum and rotation schedule for each of the three years.

PGY-1

Inpatient Medicine — Two months

Cardiology — One month

Family Medicine Essentials — One month

Family Medicine Center — One month

Obstetrics — One month

Pediatric Inpatient/Newborn Nursery — One month

Pain Management — One month

General Surgery — One month

Sports Medicine — One month

Behavioral Science — Two weeks

GI — Two weeks

Ophthomology — Two weeks

Podiatry — Two weeks

PGY-2

Inpatient Medicine — Two months

Emergency Room — One month

Geriatrics — One month

Infectious Disease — One month

Nephrology — One month

Neurology — One month

Obstetrics — One month

Pediatric Inpatient Medicine — One month

Pediatric Outpatient — One month

Behavioral Science — Two weeks

Dermatology — Two weeks

Hematology/Oncology — Two weeks

Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) — Two weeks

Community Medicine — One month

Family Medicine Center — One month
